Lucile Maertens holds a position of lecturer in international relations at the University of Lausanne. She is also a research fellow at Sciences Po-CERI, CNRS, where she co-supervises a research seminar on environment and international relations.
In 2015, she obtained a PhD in political science from Sciences Po and the University of Geneva for her work on the securitization of the environment at the United Nations. As part of her post-doctoral project, she was a visiting fellow at King’s College London in 2016 and at Columbia University in 2017. Her research focuses on international organizations’ action at the intersection between security and environmental issues. She recently started a new project on the work of the United Nations in Haiti.
